Year 6 Open Mornings: September 2023
At St James, we know that choosing a secondary school is a big decision for your whole family. Therefore, we are delighted to offer open morning tours for you and your child to visit St James during our school day. This is fantastic opportunity for you to experience St James and visit lessons to see us in action. At St James, we ask our students to work hard and be kind, and this is exactly what you will see.
On your visit, you will be greeted by a member of our Senior Leadership Team and then taken on a tour by our student leaders. Our tours are aimed at specific primary schools on different days to ensure that your child feel comfortable and also to minimise disruption to Year 6 lessons at your child’s current school. You have four tour times to choose from.
In addition to our open morning tours, we would like to invite you to join us on our open evening on Thursday 28th of September between 6pm and 8pm. There will be a talk by Emily Harper, Headteacher, at 6pm and again at 7pm. For the rest of the evening, you are invited to take a guided tour of the school or to tour the school at your own leisure. All our subjects will have staff and students ready to talk to you and the more practical subjects such as science, food technology, art and PE will have demonstrations your child can get involved with. There is no need to sign up for the evening; everyone is welcome.
