Our Trust of Schools

Year 11 Information

The final year of school is both exciting and challenging for year 11 students. Our aim is to ensure that our students are as prepared as they can be for their final exams and leave us ready for their next step and optimistic about their future opportunities.

On this page you will find information that will help you prepare with your child for their next steps. There are exam timetables, revision tips and advice and notices that are specific to Y11. We will continue to update this page with useful information as the year unfolds.

We thank you for your ongoing support of year 11 students and recognise that while this can be a time of excitement and anticipation, for some it can also be a time of uncertainty. Therefore, we also include links to mental health support and pastoral support, should your child wish to access this.

Year 11 Revision Plan – Cycle 2 Mid Cycle

Foundation Tier

Below is a 4-week revision plan that will support your revision in the lead up to your cycle 2 mid-cycle assessment (Chemistry Paper 2)

For each week there is a written revision resource (e.g. BBC Bitesize), a video revision resource, a suggested revision activity and an exam question with the mark scheme so you can self-assess your work.

You should choose the resource that suits your revision style best (video or written) and then use this to help you complete the revision activity and exam question. You will need to be logged into your school Google account to access the exam questions.

This revision plan is in addition to your Sparx Science homework and is designed to help structure your independent revision at home. This should only take about 30 minutes per week. Spread out over the week, that is only about 4 minutes per day!

Please remember you should also be using some of the below strategies to prepare for your mock assessments.

  • Read, Cover, Write, Check,
  • Flashcards
  • Mind maps
  • Setting yourself extra Sparx Science quizzes
  • Science Google Classroom (code l3jo3dh)

If you need support with any revision strategies, please speak to your Science teacher.
