Due to the current social distancing and DfE guidelines I’m sorry to say that it is not going to be possible for us to conduct Results Day as we have done in previous years.  I realise this is hugely disappointing as it is such a special day (and one that we look forward to so much), however, we need to put the safety of our students and staff first.

We are therefore going to email results to students’ school email accounts at 10.30am on Thursday 20th August.  A paper copy of results will be posted home on Friday 21st August.

A test email will be sent to all students on Wednesday 15th August before 1200. If this is not received then please contact TWJ@stjamesexeter.co.uk so we can ensure the process on Thursday 20th is as smooth as possible.

If students have any questions about the results, then there will be an opportunity to attend a 1-1 meeting with a member of our Senior Leadership Team on the afternoon of Thursday 20th or during the day on Friday 21st August.  Details on how to make an appointment will be sent out in the few days preceding Results Day.

Exeter College are committed to supporting you with a smooth transition. They have been extremely supportive in reassuring students that they will ensure every student who applied to college is awarded a place on an appropriate course. As well as considering a student’s awarded grades when offering a place, they will also work closely with schools to ensure students move onto the right course.

The Exeter College GCSE Results helpline will be open on Thursday 20th from 08.30am should students have any questions about their chosen course once they have received their results. The number to ring will be 01392 400555.

You may have followed Ofqual’s consultation and decision on how grades are awarded this summer. As a school, we submitted our Centre Assessed Grades to the exam boards in early June. These grades will now be moderated by Ofqual before final grades are awarded. We have not been part of this moderation process, so any difference between our Centre Assessed Grades and final grades will be as a consequence of the moderation processes and so out of our control. For further information on the moderation process and on the option of resitting an exam in Autumn 2020 or Summer 2021 please visit: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/890811/Summer_2020_grades_for_GCSE_AS_A_level_guidance_for_teachers_students_parents_09062020.pdf
