St James hosted the Exeter Schools and East Devon vs Exeter Schools Cross Country Championships, 2 races in November where students were competing for a place at the Devon School’s XC Championships in the New Year. We had 22 Year 10’s who battled the elements over the two days to help set up and pack away the course along with marshall the runners; all of which they did with enthusiasm whilst supporting the runners going around the gruelling course!
St James had 6 runners compete in the 2nd round with ALL of them qualifying through to the Devon School Championships which are taking place at Stover School on Janurary 18th. They are:
Joshua Murphy (year 7), Esther McKae (year 7), Alistair Smith (year 8), Luke Mallon (year 10), Jack Drew-Cull (year 10), Louis Chamberlain (year 11).
A massive thank you from the PE department firstly to the year 10 helpers, without them the 2 racers would not have gone so smoothly, and congratulations to the 6 cross country qualifiers. We will be supporting you in the New Year!
