The Year 7 boys Rugby team added to their growing reputation with a 20-20 thriller against local school Clyst Vale. After wins against West Exe, Isca and Cranbrook earlier in the season, St James faced their biggest challenge to date. After a slow start against a physically bigger team, St jaems eventually grew into the game and strong inroads from Seth Sharland who was immense all game, and fantastic defending from Caleb Hizzet, the visitors scored a well worked try in the corner thanks to Ruben Bates. More good tackling from Luke Daysh and Will Walker kept the home side pinned in their own half, but a clever break away allowed the hosts to cross our line. Mazy running Lucas Hackworthy helped to gain good field position and St James scored again. It was end to end stuff from this point in, but St James held on to secure a good draw away from home. Well done to all those involved! Mr Chalmers
